The free version of the Tagged Photo Exporter Chrome extension (The Extension) never sends your Facebook data anywhere. While exporting photos, The Extension saves information about your Facebook session (like your user ID—but never your authorization tokens) to Chrome's local storage. This information is only used when fetching photo data from Facebook.
Due to implementation constraints, the paid "Add timestamps" feature temporarily stores your photos in a private S3 bucket. This bucket is not accessible to the public, and all photos are automatically deleted after 24 hours (using S3 lifecycle rules). This flow is required because the "Save page as..." download flow relies on externally-hosted images. Images without timestamps are already hosted by Facebook, but images with timestamps must be temporarily hosted somewhere else in order for the download to work.
To improve The Extension and provide a better user experience, we use the following tools:
My name is Tom Cleveland. I built this extension as a side project to help people more easily access and preserve their Facebook memories.
I will continue referring to myself as "we" and "us" because it sounds fancy.
We collect and process data in the following ways:
Beyond these specific cases, The Extension primarily facilitates data exchange between your browser and Facebook, and we do not collect or store your Facebook data.
We share data with the following third-party services:
For the paid "Add timestamps" feature, modified photos are automatically deleted from our private S3 bucket after 24 hours. Anonymous usage data and error logs are retained for a reasonable period to allow for product improvements and bug fixes.
